Well those last minute on-line pledges did it. We reached our goal of $75,000 all thanks to you. Thanks again for your support... now onward to another year of commercial free, listener supported radio!

We still have the Detroit Cobras tentatively playing live on 3RC next Friday, Dec. 6th. I'll know more on Monday.

Thanks to everyone who pledge to WMBR this year during our fund drive. And a special thanks to those who pledged on Three Ring Circus. We fell a bit short of our goal of $75,000, but hope that online pledges trickling in will get us there. If you haven't pledged yet, you can pledge online until the end of today. If you pledge $25 or more, I will send you a personal thank you mix CD - Magical Musical Moments of 2002. It's been a tough year financially for all of us and we really appreciate all that you have done, and continue to do for WMBR. Now onward to another year of great, listener-supported radio at MIT.

With that... tomorrow, Nov. 22, I'll air an interview with Jorma Kaukonen.

And on Friday, November 29th, it's Triptophan Friday... where we'll feature long jams for post Thanksgiving consumption.

And keep your fingers crossed for the Detroit Cobras. Scheduling permitted, they will be playing a live set on Three Ring Circus, Friday December 6th. So think Cobra thoughts....

Well today our annual fund drive started. I hope you find it in your hearts and minds to make a pledge to the station that you love - WMBR. A rare breed indeed, WMBR is all-volunteer, NO ONE gets paid. We rely on your support for basic maintanence and any capital improvements. You can read more about WMBR, and our fund drive here. This Friday, November 15, Three Ring Circus will be airing special performances from the last year to remind just how special we are... and just why you should give. So please tune in.

Also tune in Friday, November 22, for a special Three Ring Circus with Jorma Kaukonen. He'll talk about his latest release, the fabulous "Blue Country Heart," Jack and Hot Tuna and the Jefferson Airplane reunion and if he'll ever do it again.

Today, the Three Ring Circus will present an interview and in-studio live set by "The Damnations" from Austin, TX. They will perform some tracks from their latest release "Where It Lands." You can check out pictures when they were in town here. And learn more about the band on their web site.

Also be sure to tune in next Friday, November 15, for WMBR annual fundraising drive. Where we beg and plead to you, to give it up, for us. We all hate when people ask us for money too, but it's pour cable bill, but we only ask for payment once per year. I always try to make the fundraising show special just to remind you of what it is you're paying for. I hope you'll all be there to support us again for another year.art of "our special relationship." We don't play commercials and you don't have to listen to them. Think of this as paying y

This Friday, October 25, Tone-Cool recording artist, Rick Holmstrom will be performing live on Three Ring Circus sometime around 4pm. I'll also be chatting with Rick about his current release "Hydraulic Groove" a release that mixes blues and beats for a whole new funk. Later that night Rick will be opening for Addison Groove Project over at the Paradise. Read more about Rick here.

Friday, November 1st it's "Four Corners of the Round Table" on The Three Ring Circus. Straight from their gig at CMJ in NYC, we have singer-songwriters Beaver Nelson, Scrappy Jud Newcomb, Steve Poltz and Adam Carroll stopping by the studios. That's 4 guys, 4 guitars and one happy gal. Later in the evening the "Round Table" moves over to the Lizard Lounge. Read more about

Geez, I sort of forgot about this section.

Here's an update. You can now find playlists online here. They usually go up right after the show or first thing Saturday morning - ok noon, but that's pretty good.

I've also been busy uploading photos in the photo gallery. I keep getting behind as I have seen some great shows (The Stones, Beck, The Flatlanders to name a few). and talked to some great artists, who will find their way on the Three Ring Circus in the coming weeks. In fact, I will be featuring an interview with David Grisman this Friday, Oct. 4 around 5pm. I was able to corner David on his tour bus when he was in town for Jam Grass. We talked about his upcoming release "Old & In the Gray," "Grateful Dawg" and his record label Acoustic Disc. So tune in.

In the not so distant future, I'll be featuring a live set with The Damnations (from Austin, TX) and an interview with Jorma Kaukonen... so keep listening or check back here for dates.

August 10, 2002:

Here is where I'll post upcoming Three Ring Circus special events, entertainment news (rumors) and reviews of shows (which most likely will have pictures in the photo gallery) and other fun stuff for Three Ring Circus listeners.

The big news right now is that I finally got around to updating the web site! I've been meaning to do it for longer than I care to admit. It's been a combination of waiting to have enough time to sit down and design something easy on your eyes and easy for me to update on a regular basis. In other words, once I start, I'll keep going. The Events Calendar is updated weekly, and has been for a couple years now. It's usually posted by noon on Friday. *New regular updates will include adding weekly playlists, as well as photos of live shows and in-studio guests. I feel very fortunate to have had so many great artists visit the studio, and since WMBR has upgraded it's primary air-studio I've been able to do more. So check here for upcoming studio guests.

In the future, I may add links to sites of interest or the capability for you to sign up to receive the events calendar and studio alerts via email. If these, or other features, are of interest to you, drop me a line and let me know. This site is really for Three Ring Circus and WMBR listening community. And as with the show, your suggestions and requests are always welcome.
