Lizard Lounge March 5, 2003
Ahhh, a mellow evening at the Lizard Lounge. The band in their pajamas, the brass tuning up, the conductor with his conducting stick. Or were they pajammers? The Chandler Travis Philharmonic (CTP) delivered an evening of their trademark quirky tunes, goofy antics and expert musicianship. Guitars, stand up bass, horn section, keys and drums - there was much fun to be had. Tonight's performance was quasi catered by Chandler's sister, who sent him the annual "Ring Cake," a Madi Gras tradition. And like the fruitcake tradition, Chandler honored his audience with the sugar concoction to rid him of the sugary confection with the baby in the cake (plastic baby that is).
This gig was a rehearsal for their real CD release party, for "Llama Rhymes," next Wednesday (3/12) at the Lizard Lounge. I wonder what they will be serving?
Learn more about CTP at their web site. And some pictures of CTP when they played live on 3RC back in 2000.
